Mr. Ryan was requested to be a co-presenter for the Navy Command Financial Specialist’s training taking place at the Lowry Theater, North Island Naval Base Coronado. The training is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2011, at 8:00 a.m. He and a judge advocate from the NLSO SW Navy legal assistance office will be discussing child support issues.

Paul Ryan (Lieutenant Colonel, USMCR, Retired), Co-Chair of the Military Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association, moderated a successful seminar on Friday, October 21, 2011 to judge advocates from all the military legal assistance offices in San Diego. The seminar took place at the Reserve Support Unit auditorium, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
There was a presentation from Mr. Neal Nelson, the Director of Garnishment Operations at the Defense Finance Accounting Service, and a family law panel that included Commissioner Adam Wertheimer (San Diego Family Support Division). Mr. Ryan and San Diego family law attorney, Kim Marie Staron, were also on the family law panel with Commissioner Wertheimer.

I am a co-chair of the Military Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. The Military Law Section is sponsoring a seminar next Friday, October 21, 2011, featuring Mr. Neal Nelson, the Director of Garnishment Operations at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). He has graciously agreed to give a presentation to local judge advocates (and staff) at the MCAS Miramar RSU Auditorium. He will be addressing DFAS and SCRA issues. In addition, there will be a family law panel with local family law attorneys and possibly, a local family law commissioner. It is expected that the seminar will go from 0900 to 1600.
